The ISOFS Pre-conference Workshop with live fistula surgeries, took place at the Maputo Central Hospital (HCM), on October 31st and November 1^st, 2022. 120 participants attended, from different countries, composed of Fistula Surgeons, Urologists, Obstetricians, Gynecologists, Resident Physicians, Surgery Technicians, Nurses and other health personnel.

At the workshop, 5 women and girls received life-changing surgeries with successful results. The surgeries performed and the live transmission was possible with the support from Direct Relief, Fistula Foundation, Embassy of Ireland. The event was organized by Focus Fistula in collaboration with the Maputo Central Hospital under the Ministry of Health of Mozambique.

The Workshop Surgical Team: Lead Surgeon – Dr. Igor Vaz; 2nd Surgeon – Dr. Amâncio Oliveira; Assistant Surgeon – Dr. Natacha Becca. The official opening of the workshop was conducted by Prof. Cesaltina Lorenzoni representing HCM.
